Earl of Sandwich coming to Boston Common

I was so excited to hear this news today! The Earl of Sandwich is coming to a Boston bathroom near you. Ok, that sounds a little gross. But, they will be cleaning it first.

The Earl of Sandwich is probably my favorite quick service stop at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.  The chain of restaurants has locations all across the U.S. including Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Boston’s Logan International Airport and Detroit Metro Airport.

EOS uses artisan-baked bread that is some of the best around. The sandwiches are amazing! My personal fave is the Original 1762 – roast beef piled high with cheddar and a spicy horseradish sauce. It’s so good that on the last two trips to Disney I haven’t had a chance to snap a pic. (I promise I will on the upcoming trip in December!)

What’s more interesting about this news? The location will be built into an old restroom location on the Boston Common, a large park space in downtown Boston. Read more about it from MSNBC. Apparently, renovating a bathroom into a restaurant constitutes as weird news. As long as they dish out the same tasty sandwiches as I know and love, they could build this thing on the banks of the Charles River’s dirty water.

Learn more about Earl of Sandwich and their rich history – they really are owned by the family of the fourth Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu. Plus, read DisneyFoodBlog’s review of EOS at Downtown Disney!

The Boston Common location is set to open later in 2011 or early 2012. If you can’t wait, visit the location at Logan Airport’s Terminal E. (Wish I knew that existed sooner!)
