Construction update: El Beso Mexican Restaurante

Updated 11/3/10: Greenfield NOW reports on opening of El Beso for February 2011.

We were out ‘n about yesterday near Southridge so I took some shots of the progress of El Beso, the new Mexican restaurant that has taken over the spot once filled by Champps in Greenfield.

There isn’t a whole lot of obvious changes on the outside, but ladders, construction equipment and particle board are in plain view. Still no official website has been made live for El Beso, which means “The Kiss,” and is owned by the same group that owns El Fuego on Milwaukee’s southside.

La Fuente coming to Tosa

According to BizTimes Milwaukee, La Fuente will be opening a second location in the Wauwatosa area later this summer or early fall.

Jose Zarate, the owner of La Fuente, a popular Mexican restaurant located at 625 S. 5th St. in Milwaukee’s Latin Quarter, recently purchased the 20,000-square-foot Monreal’s El Matador restaurant building at 9155 W. Bluemound Road, Milwaukee, for $1.29 million. Zarate plans to convert the restaurant to a La Fuente restaurant. It will open in later summer or early fall after an extensive remodeling project.
