Top 10 Fictional Foodies of All-Time

SF Weekly posted a list of the Top 10 foodies from TV and movies this week. On the list are Augustus Gloop from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” Remy from Disney-Pixar’s Ratatouille and Liz Lemon from NBC’s “30 Rock.”

While I love the Gene Wilder version of “Willy Wonka” and “Ratatouille” is one of my favorite Disney-Pixar-animated flicks, I feel this list is missing some of the greatest fictional foodies. Here are some more to consider:

Hannibal Lecter
He scared legions of people away from fava beans and a nice chianti in 1991’s “The Silence of the Lambs,” but Sir Anthony Hopkins portrayal of Hannibal Lecter is one that is deep in our memories and in our stomachs.

Vianne from “Chocolat”
The 2000 Oscar-nominated “Chocolat” with Juliette Binoche as “Vianne,” is one of those quintessential films about food that goes deep into your mind and soul with an almost poetic look at chocolate and sweets.
