Dakota’s Pumpkin Peanut Butter Treats

Dakota waiting for treatsHi to all my mommy’s bloggie followers. It’s Dakota again. I hope everyone is having a great fall. I know I am. It’s so much fun to run through all of the fallen leaves on our walks.

This week, my mommy and daddy have orientation at my doggie school. I’m enrolled in a class called “Diamonds in the Ruff” at the MSPCA for eight weeks. I’m a little afraid of other dogs and some people, so this class — we hope — is going to get me more comfortable around some other four-legged friends.

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. I love chasing after my daddy outside and he’s really good at tug ‘o war. But, my mommy likes fall a whole bunch, too. Favorite Fall Foods

I love autumn. Besides all the bad migraines it brings me each year, I absolutely love the changing colors on the trees, the pumpkin and apple cider drinks, going to the pumpkin patch and wearing chunky wool sweaters with boots.

Today, we stopped at Starbucks to enjoy some of their new fall offerings. I totally indulged in their new salted caramel mocha. Wow — this drink is smooth! Brett enjoyed a (decaf) pumpkin spice latte, which was equally autumnal.Apple Cider Donut from Mann OrchardsThen, we dropped by Mann’s Orchards and Bakery for some of their apple cider donuts. Just stepping out of the car, we were accosted by the warm, inviting smell of these yeasty treats. They were absolutely incredible! A sugary coating and a fluffy interior. I’m just drooling thinking about what these would be like right out of the fryer.

So, what’s your favorite fall food? Leave a comment below!

Once you sign up for a free account, you begin to “pin” photos of things that you like to “boards” – it can be anything food, clothes, motivational sayings, ideas for around the house and more. If you’re on the site, you can follow me here.

I must blame Stacey from Boston Sweetie for my addiction to this website. I have several food-related boards including “Recipes to Try” and “Awesome Cake Designs.” Through the site, my eyes have broadened to new bloggers and ideas to try in the kitchen like this recipe for pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting.

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Wishing you and your family a safe holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving! Turkey cupcake from Milwaukee Cupcake Co.A turkey cupcake from Milwaukee Cupcake Company. A yellow cake bottom with colored frosting makes the holiday fun. They also have “The Thanksgiving,” a sweet potato cake with maple syrup buttercream frosting and topped with a toasted marshmallow. Or, the “Pumpkin Spice Latte,” a pumpkin cupcake with pumpkin spiced buttercream frosting and topped with a piece of pie crust and a hint of nutmeg.

P.S. Sorry the photo’s a bit blurry. In a bit of a hurry to eat this little guy!
